Do they have data that shows only five rounds are necessary for a concealed carrier to survive a life-or-death situation? Are there fact sheets that support the notion that not only will criminals purchase their firearms through a licensed dealer, but that the 10 days they have to wait for their California-compliant AR-15 will provide enough time for their hearts to soften and their rage to simmer? They don’t have any of that. What they have is a constituency that is blindly obedient to solutions that won’t work, rhetoric that is full of hot air, and an agenda that is wholly unconstitutional. Attacks of an arbitrary nature may win elections and poll well with the uninformed, but they won’t save lives, they won’t disarm criminals, and in the long run, they won’t prevail. It’s up to us to be informed, to stand, to unite around our worthy cause, and fight for what we know is right. | |
