Freedom’s bell was ringing as over 14,000 attendees came from all corners of the country to celebrate the Second Amendment and the right to defend ourselves and our family in Milwaukee, WI, August 25-27, at the inaugural NRA Carry Guard Expo.
 
With an unprecedented 124 seminars and workshops there was no shortage of options from beginner to expert level. Topics ranged from concealed carry and personal protection practices to hand-to-hand defensive training, and gender and age-specific training. The list of presenters was a "who's who" in the personal defense arena.

MMA legend and Hall of Famer Royce Gracie shared his incredible skills in a hands-on Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu course. Understanding the dynamics and mindset of effective personal defense was delivered by several experts including U.S. Navy SEAL and modern warfare professional Jeff Gonzales and former CIA protective programs educator Steve Tarani.

NRA’s own Debbie Crews leads ladies in a seminar to handle the most popular firearms among women today and decide what works best for them.   John Lovell, the Warrior Poet, leads a seminar on Homestead Security Planning and how to prepare your family for emergencies.

In between educational sessions, attendees checked out the 160 exhibitors spread across nearly 100,000 square feet of the Wisconsin Center. Leading firearm and accessory companies were on hand to showcase their latest products, services and technologies for self-defense and concealed carry in the impressive exhibit hall.

The NRA Mobile Tactical Range Experience on the exhibit floor was a hit among Expo attendees and featured firearms from several leading manufactures. Attendees were able to test fire real firearms utilizing Ultimate Training Munitions safe and effective training ammunition.   At the NRA Carry Guard Membership Experience, attendees met leaders of the NRA Carry Guard Training program, including Jeff Houston (Lead Instructor), Josh Powell (NRA Chief of Staff), George Severence (Carry Guard National Director) and Eric Frohardt (NRA Director of Education & Training and Carry Guard Training Director).

The NRA Concealed Carry Fashion Show on Friday evening drew a sold out crowd to witness an entertaining, yet educational runway display featuring 50 innovative concealed carry products from 20 different exhibitors. The event was an international hit, with news outlets and fashion blogs from around the world covering the show.
