Two stylists and one customer were in a San Antonio salon when an armed man entered and began demanding “Money, cell phones, purse. Money, money.”
The man gave conflicting orders, telling everyone not to move after one hairstylist ran over to be by the other two people, so they all remained frozen, which apparently angered the would-be robber. The customer, a 26-year-old man, tried to explain that the money in the salon had already been collected and taken to the bank for the day, so he wouldn’t get much. At this, the suspect became irate and began pistol-whipping the man, then ordered him to the ground and started to bind him with zip-ties.
The customer seemed to be complying and was on his knees, but suddenly drew his own gun, spun around and shot the assailant at least three times, killing him. The suspect was later identified as a 50-year-old man with a lengthy criminal record that included prior burglary and evading arrest. The customer reportedly was a little late to his haircut that evening because he’d stopped at home specifically to get his gun. “It was impressive,” one stylist told reporters. “It was like he was Agent 007 … He’s my hero.” Continue reading »
