| A 72-year-old homeowner shot an alleged intruder he discovered in his Nashville, TN home. The homeowner told police he returned home from eating breakfast and found the screen from his kitchen window on the ground. Police say he drew a pistol and began checking rooms in the house. | Clerk shoots gunman who tried to pass fake $20 bill and then shot at him |

| A clerk at a north Houston corner store returned fire and killed a robbery suspect. The 56-year-old suspect allegedly went into the Super Qwik Food Store and tried to pass a counterfeit $20 bill. The clerk called out the fake currency, and then the suspect made his way into the clerk’s secured area, police said.
