Police in Brownsburg, Indiana say an armed citizen saved the life of a man who had been targeted in an "unprovoked attack" at a local cemetery, though not before the suspect took the life of one cemetery worker. A 72-year-old homeowner shot an alleged intruder he discovered in his Nashville, TN home. The homeowner told police he returned home from eating breakfast and found the screen from his kitchen window on the ground. Police say he drew a pistol and began checking rooms in the house. A clerk at a north Houston corner store returned fire and killed a robbery suspect. The 56-year-old suspect allegedly went into the Super Qwik Food Store and tried to pass a counterfeit $20 bill. The clerk called out the fake currency, and then the suspect made his way into the clerk’s secured area, police said. Police believe the gunman fired at least one shot, missing the clerk by just inches. The clerk was armed and was able to return fire.
