The Kennewick Police Department says a woman called about an armed man with a two-by-two steel pipe, who was trying to break down her door. Police say the woman had a gun and barricaded the back door while waiting for officers. When investigators arrived, the suspect fled to the back of the home, he was then arrested without any use of force according to police. | A 69-year-old concealed carry license holder defended himself against a group of teenagers in a stolen vehicle when they approached him in Beverly and demanded his belongings, police said. | A Fairbanks man stopped an attempted robbery at a gas station by pointing his gun at the suspect and holding him until law enforcement arrived. The customer said he was standing in line at a Holiday store with his breakfast and energy drink when a teen walked in with a knife and told employees he was robbing the store. The man put his shopping items on the counter and snuck out the door to retrieve his pistol from his car. | A homeowner used a rifle to defend his home against a pair of early-morning intruders, shooting and wounding one of the suspects. Union County deputies were called to the home in rural Union County. Deputies say two people, one armed with a handgun, broke into an occupied home. | Atlanta police responded to a midtown Chick-Fil-A where they say an armed citizen stopped an attempted robbery. Police received a call about a man who entered the restaurant inside Colony Square with a gun and demanded cash. As the man ran from the restaurant, Sgt. John Chafee said several people nearby saw what was going on and attempted to stop him. One of them fired two shots and held the robbery suspect at gunpoint until officers arrived.
