An intruder forced himself into a residence while the homeowner was present. The homeowner verbally gave orders for the intruder to leave, which he refused. Fearing for her safety, the homeowner fired one shot, striking him. The Harrison County Sheriff stated, “This entire incident is an excellent example of the importance of our 2nd Amendment. Cab driver with concealed carry license stops attempted carjacker |

A taxi driver shot a man attempting to carjack him Thursday night in Austin on the West Side. A man was driving a red Mitsubishi for a taxi service when he was called to the 5400 block of West Van Buren Street. Three males entered his vehicle, and one pulled out a handgun and demanded the driver’s car, police said. The driver then shot the man, 30, striking him in the forearm and hip, police said. Woman shoots armed ex-boyfriend who broke into home |

Las Vegas police say a woman fatally shot her ex-boyfriend Wednesday as he held a gun to the head of her current boyfriend after breaking into the woman's home. Police said preliminary information indicates the woman acted in self-defense. The woman, her current boyfriend and her three young children were in the home at about 4:30 a.m. when the woman called 911 as her former boyfriend smashed windows to gain entry into the home. Police said the woman had a gun, prompting the ex-boyfriend to leave the home before returning moments later with a gun of his own. Man fatally shot while attempting to rob cannabis store |

An armed employee of a cannabis dispensary in Covington fatally shot a man who was attempting to rob the store, according to the store’s director of operations. The would-be robber accosted an employee in the parking lot of the Covington store, put the employee in a chokehold and held a gun to his head. “The perpetrator walked the employee up to the store, got in the door and told our ID and security people, ‘This is a robbery,'” Evans said. “My ID checker said, ‘Are you serious?’ and when he was, my ID checker drew his weapon and fired.”… Continue reading » |

Burglary suspect shot after following homeowner in 'threatening manner' |

A homeowner shot a man he said broke into his east Houston home, and according to police, that burglary suspect is now dead. The suspect was shot by the homeowner after attempting to stab him upon entering the residence in the 7300 block of Canal Street, police said. The suspect died at the hospital. The owner said there had been a lot of attempted break-ins, so he told police he was out checking around his property. Police said the owner was unable to get in through the side door and quickly realized someone was inside his home. That's when he said he came face-to-face with a man with a knife.
